As mentioned a couple of other places on HK, I got myself a new toy, courtesy of my trial toy sponsor http://www.trialaction.dk.

My scales are not able to weigh stuff this heavy, but a guesstimate is that it's well sub 8kg, probably around 7.7kg.
I mounted the first battle scars on it just a few minutes ago :D

Thanks.

Did you notice the carbon gusset? ;)
I think that's a fun little detail.

So do you prefer hardwood floors or carpets?

Nice bike Mr. Magura. I have a great deal of respect for those who can huck those things over everything.

Hardwood all the way :D

No reason to send that sort of respect my way, I'm a novice in that regard.
I'm good at crashing them though, does that count?

Yeah. I actually think it's a great solution for a bash guard/ring.
It just might work rather well on a MTB. At least I'm tempted to give it a shot, as it's pretty much just a piece of sheet metal.

Thanks.

I only wish I had converted my own frame to part composite as well.
It's a top competition frame, but truth be told, I am not too happy with the stiffness of the frame.
Super light, sure, but too flexy for my taste.

I have a Monty Kamel 219 as well, and I like that frame a lot better, though it's considered much lower level than the Echo frame.

Those pedals are what caught my eye, among other things. They look quite grippy. Did you make them yourself?
I know you are easily capable of such stuff.

Those are Echo pedals, and if you buy the steel axle version they're even reasonably cheap.
They sure are grippy, and reliable as well.

Oh, and for MTB standards they're light at like 330g.

Yeah, that's light all right, and they DO look grippy. My polycarb flats are nice and grippy and light and cheap, and so far, they are durable.
so in the space of a few months, I've completely changed over from clipless pedals to flats. Go figger..........

Flats and Five/Ten shoes = clipless without the drawbacks.
