Felt crumby last night so I wasn't sure i would feel up to riding today. I woke up feeling a little better but still weak. I decided to give it a try. I started feeling a little better as the ride progressed.

13+ miles
1900+' of climbing

Those are selfies. It's the thang these days. Selfies today, videos yesteryear.

You should know better than to question my actions. I live in the state where almost everything was introduced into the modern world.

Those are not "selfies". Those are half selfies if that. I guess you're out to start another trend out of Cali. :laughing-rollingyellow: :laughing-rolling:

Hawg is also showing off the latest Clooney-esqe trend from CA, of not shaving. Unless your'e over 64, in which case it's a universal symptom of early onset dementia.

Also, DJ, you know damn well the top pic depicts one the awesome "safety meetings" that are mandatory on any group ride in the dirt.

LOL - it took me a minute on the safety meeting comments. Looks like the guy in the center of the meeting dropped a hot roach down his shorts.

Safety first, ALWAYS!

Ray, I maintain a 5 o'clock shadow these days to hide my wrinkles. When clean shaven, I look like I am naturally frowning. Not good.

DJ, you saw it here first. Don't forget that.

CRAP, we have wind driven wildfires here. Strong winds expected all week long. This is scary stuff. One of the two fires grew to 31K in less than a day!. Hundreds of homes have been burned, many thousands evacuated. It looks a bit like that nightmare in Napa. The other fire isn't far from me. I hope it doesn't do the same thing. It's been howling here since yesterday evening.

I been following the news. Looks like the condo unit where my son lived while he was working at the Ojai Inn and Resort is gone. My thoughts are with you all.

I got up close and personal with the closer fire this morning and it was unsettling. The way I had come into an area was fully engulfed and the flames were blowing sideways, covering the 4 lane road I was driving on. I did a quick 180 and got out of there quickly. Had to take the long way around the mountain range to get back into my area. I have the important documents and personal items out and ready near the door in case we have to go quick.

That's the new paradigm. Keep all of your important stuff close by in the event that you have to run on a moments notice. We made a list and consolidated all of our important stuff that we can grab at a moments notice. Hope you and yours stay safe.

Scary stuff Hawg. Do as Norton advised, things happen rapidly in wildfire situations as you know. Don't wait until the last minute when you are evacuated, been there.

BIG ride today (for me, anyway). Had to stay close to home so I combined Verdugo mtn/GSC/Cherry Canyon.

Love it to pieces. Far and away the funnest HT I have ever had or ridden. I much prefer the pedaling efficiency of a HT but I do get a little beat up. I can ride this bike down or through anything I can ride the Remedy through, just a little slower because it doesn't have rear suspension to soak up the hits.

Little item I had to have. Was found on a bike in a junk yard in Rochester Michigan. I’m near Rochester NY so I got it for one of my cruisers

Dang CA peeps, it seems as though all of CA has been on fire at least once in the last few years. Stay safe, this latest round sounds and looks like a bad one.

Thanks guys for the safe wishes. Our climate here (maybe other areas too?) is drying out and heating up. It seems that we have mini seasons every month of the year here. It looks like we are going to have another dry Winter down here in So Cal, too. The weather guys on the news says this is the new norm, high pressure parked over the SW which pushes the rain up and away from our location. It's riding season year round here though, so WTF am I complaining about, right?!

I think all of the west is dry this year. Here it's mid December and Northern Colorado has only had one snow storm of 8". That was a month ago and was melted and gone in 3 days.

I’ve probably explained the Leah toy before. It’s an old Burger King kids meal toy one of my kids got. I keep it on my desk

You turn it over, look up her dress and see a space ship through a peep hole. Not kidding

Hawg, I was on the coast yesterday and it was 70 degrees, crystal clear and sheet glass. I could see the smoke from the fire's on the horizon. It's traveled 500 + miles. Interesting.
