 Post subject: I get dirt on my crack

And then also down my loose fitting seatpost. Until now :-)

Clean area. Apply bead of quality clear bathroom silicone sealant. Put a strip if clear tape on inside of post so that you can press the sealant in but have it flush and smooth. Trim with exacto.

That's a fine idea.
Another solution is to put like 100mm of inner tube over the joint.


Magura :)

EDIT: The inner tube solution does not keep dirt out of your crack though.

Thanks 8-) A fender/mudguard probably a good idea at this time of year too. The amount of love that the trails are leaving with me is unreal. Everything is getting pre-washed in the shower tub before being thrown in the washer.

I have an SKS X-Board (downtube mud guard) I add when I'm on wet terrain. Works great on the commuter, also. Super easy to add and remove. Cheap, too...
